Does whipped tallow expire?

Yes, because there are no preservatives in our products! They are typically good for 6 months to a year after opening. For best results, you want to keep bacteria out of them. Bacteria will enter the jars with dirty hands and they will also spoil if water is introduced, so don't use wet hands in the jars.

Where do you source your tallow from?

From a USA based, grass-fed AND finished farm…which means our tallow has high levels of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) and is extremely healing for your skin!

How do I know if my tallow is expired?

Tallow smells creamy, earthy, natural, or like beef, so if you're not used to tallow products, it can be confusing to know how to identify spoiled tallow. Beef = normal. If bacteria has gotten into the jar, you'll know, because your tallow will smell like fish or cheese. It the oil has expired, it will smell like stale chips (think old cooking oil.)
